What You’ll Do
About the Team
The Business Systems Engineering team partners closely with Data Center Operations, Infrastructure, Facilities, and IT to design and scale the systems that power CoreWeave’s global data center footprint. This team owns the platforms and integrations that enable asset lifecycle management, operational visibility, and infrastructure automation across high-density, multi-site environments.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly driven Business Systems Engineer to support and scale the systems that enable Data Center Operations. This role focuses on data center asset lifecycle management, project and portfolio management, MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul), infrastructure automation, and commissioning workflows across multiple sites.
You will play a critical role in building and operating the platforms that keep our data centers observable, automated, and resilient at scale. This includes ownership of DCIM, asset tracking systems, and internally built tooling that ensures high data integrity, efficient workflows, and seamless system interoperability across operations and IT.
This is not a traditional operations role—you will be engineering the systems layer that underpins data center execution.
What You’ll Own
Serve as a strategic systems partner to Data Center Operations, Infrastructure, and Facilities teams
Own and evolve integrations across DCIM (e.g., Sunbird), SCADA/HMI platforms (e.g., Ignition), BMS, CMMS, NetBox, Jira, and ERP systems
Build and maintain API-driven integrations, event pipelines, and webhook-based workflows across the operational tooling ecosystem
Define and manage SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for critical operational systems
Design and implement full-stack observability (metrics, logs, traces) with dashboards for real-time data center visibility
Develop internal tools, microservices, and automation frameworks to extend platform capabilities and close integration gaps
Build unified dashboards and alerting systems for data center health, asset lifecycle tracking, capacity planning, and project milestones
Design, operate, and scale Kubernetes clusters supporting operational workloads, including orchestration, multi-cluster strategy, upgrades, and reliability engineering
Implement infrastructure security best practices (RBAC, network policies, pod security standards, admission controllers) in partnership with Security and Compliance
Own infrastructure-as-code for system configuration and environments (e.g., Terraform, Helm)
Partner with data engineering teams to design and harden pipelines from operational systems into the data warehouse
Ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity across all integrated systems
Who You Are
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
5+ years of experience in systems engineering, infrastructure automation, or IT platforms supporting data center environments
Hands-on experience integrating and operating DCIM, CMMS, BMS, or SCADA-adjacent platforms in production
Strong software engineering capability with experience building APIs, scripts, or applications (Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, React, etc.)
Experience with observability and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or equivalent)
Experience with Jira automation, APIs, and workflow orchestration
Familiarity with data center infrastructure, including power, cooling, and telemetry systems
Knowledge of communication protocols such as MQTT, Redfish, BACnet, or Modbus
Experience using NetBox or similar systems as a source of truth for network and asset inventory
Strong cross-functional collaboration across Infrastructure, Engineering, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and IT
Understanding of asset lifecycle and handoff workflows from construction through operations
Exposure to audit, compliance, and infrastructure traceability requirements
Experience supporting global or multi-site data center environments
Wondering if You’re a Good Fit?
We value diverse experiences and recognize that strong candidates may not meet every requirement. You may be a great fit if:
You enjoy building platforms that power large-scale physical infrastructure
You think in systems and care about reliability, observability, and automation
You can translate complex operational workflows into scalable technical solutions
